Exactly! I have found that clients that need convincing often lead to a very bumpy road if we work together in the future.

It's hard in this economy to turn down a customer, but if they don't respect what a huge difference your service or product makes, then it subtracts from your momentum and hard work.

Just took my first action the other day and told a gal we'd hit the 30 minute free consult mark and any further consulting would be at cost. Felt good.

I work on per project basis, bid it out prior, always double the time I think it's going to take me. Better to surprise a client with money they saved, vs. money they owe! I base my bids on an hourly rate but I never work hourly anymore. Good points K about project worth and time spent, vs. not with same value for each.

Recent project that tanked taught me a lot about what I need to do from the get go and how little some people value what I offer. Basically, I offer space therapy and with that in consideration, my rates are SO cheap! I know what I do is worth my rate, if not more and I know the benefit to what I do. Some clients get it, some don't.

I want to work with clients who do and don't need convincing. :)
